The huntsman spider is a diurnal, speedy hunter who lives in the herb and shrub layer of vegetation in different habitats. This heat-loving animal hunts without a web. Mature animals are mainly found in may and June with mature females occasionally found in August. The pairing is similar to that of the Wolf spiders. The male mounts the female from the front, and then bends down to the underside and introduces his pedipalps. Although only a single move is made, this process can take several hours. Then the female builds an egg chamber composed of woven leaves, which is usually tightly attached to the ground and guarded until the eggs hatch. The eggs are green colored.
